Hi Everyone, I've been using a California Duster for years on my cars. I noticed the other day that after I wipe the car off I see tiny spider web scratches left by the duster. Any suggestions on what works without leaving those scratches?
It all depends on the color of the car. Califfornia duster on a black car is asking for trouble. White and silver wont present a problem. Its not that swirls are not happening the colors prevent them from presenting themselves. Reds are so so. Darker colors are where the swirls become apparent. I use a wool duster that is charged with static electricity when quickly roll in your hands. It never touches the surface just picks up by going slightly passing ove
What I use on my black show car is a super thick micro-fiber towel and gently drag it over the surface. Do not apply any pressure just let it float over the surface turning it and shaking it out after every panel. See Autogeek for the thickest MF towel they have. Maybe Killerwheels can help here on a towel choice.

If you want "super thick" AG carries the new Griots PFM towels. Normally for drying but these things are super dense
For most wipe downs I use Poorboys DMT's. Great towel
My car is Mag. Red Met Tri Coat. So swirls show up by just looking at the car. Mine is a daily driver and garage kept so it just gets dusty. I've started going between a damp MF and just drag without pressure or use a quick detailer with a thick MF. When it does get dirty I use a Rincless wash Thanks to everyone for your input
