I use it between each coat as well as after. Between each coat it provides a cleaner surface for the polish to bond to and after the process it is used to reduce static from the cotton towels used to remove the polish.

At first I thought it was all talk to do a Z-6 treatment between Z-2/Z-5 coats but even on my Quicksilver I can tell the difference Z-6 makes. After the last Z-2/Z-5 coat I wait to apply the Z-6. When the car collects a little dust, or when I go to a car show, it is time for more Z-6. The Z-6 does appear to build up with repeat applications much like the Z-2/Z-5.
