Default Zaino Question

Well the Zaino is here and I'm ready to start. Plan is Dawn, clay bar, Z7, Z1, Z5 today, and then Z6 and Z2 tomorrow. The question is how long after I complete the Z5 do I have to wait before it would be safe to cover the vette with a cotton cover? I will be doing everything after the Z7 in my garage, but am planning on waiting 24 hours between the Z5 and Z6/Z2.
TIA

There are other Zaino users that are more expert than I am but I have used it for the past year. Depending on your temperature and humidity, I would think you can put on the cover right after you remove Z5. Waiting 24 hours before adding Z2 will allow Z5 to cure properly. Once you remove Z5, the surface will be protected and applying a cover shouldn't hurt a thing.

Depending on your humidity you should wait 6-24 hours between coats, the less humid, the less curing time. If you are using the ZFX product then you can apply a coat immediatly after you take of the previous coat, up to 3 quotes.

when you remove the initial coat of z-5.. thats when you should put the cover on...

seeing as your vette is black.. i would advise a few more coats of z-5 :yesnod: then z-2. apply thin.. as if zaino was gold...

depending on your humidity, it may take a while for the zaino to dry.. goo dluck :)

I would Z6 it first. then Z2 and Z6.

You always finish with Z2 & Z6.

Thanks for all the replies.. Wow!! I can't believe the difference after Zaino..
I took pictures of every step and will post them after I get them back and
can scan them in, I still shoot 35mm slides. I ended up putting on two
coats of Z5, putting on Z6 between each and finishing with Z6. This weekend
I am planning on putting on at least 2 coats of Z2 with Z6 in the beginning, middle and end. I can't believe how deep the shine is. I've been using Souveran on my TR-6 but after the Zaino I think I might be changing. Wonder if it works as well on British Green. :)

I was curious if you have to use the Z-5 or can skip it. I don't believe I have any swirl marks in my paintjob. Am I better off doing it anyhow or are you not supposed to use the Z-5 unless you have swirls/scratches?

After going through several bottles of Z2 and Z5, I have simplified my life. Z5 from now on. No need to use Z2, Z5 is every bit as 'clear' as far as I can tell. Plus it hides swirls. So there you go. You are totally fine staying all Z5. Plus it has been reformulated and I like it even better than it was 6 months ago.

I sold my last remaining bottle of Z2 to another forum member (he's local to me and a friend), MikeyD, this weekend. When my last bottle of Z5 runs out I'm ordering a couple more. :)
