TOPCOAT F11 vs. ZAINO - Anyone?
So I just ordered the 16oz bottle of TOP COAT F11 (and a free 2oz bottle and 2 microfibre towels) for $99.99CDN.
Anyways.
I see a bunch of reviews and video's online which seems to be VERY VERY overwelmingly strong but I honestly don't feel they have a fair comparison.
I use and absolutely SWEAR BY ZAINO POLISH.. So While I'm waiting for my shipment to send out and arrive, I'd like to know who has actually been able to compare it to ZAINO which is a huge competitor for many products including the popular Adams (since Zaino is layerable which makes the depth far deeper than other products)..
I WILL be doing a full review but in the meantime.. Anyone here used zaino and now got a chance to try this new top coat f11 as a true comparison??

I don't understand. So someone is not allowed on this forum to ask questions like "Which gives a better result for polish "Mothers" or "Turtle Wax"?
Isn't that what Consumer Report is for? Comparing products for consumers?

Hmmm....Do you have a link to such a rule? I have never heard of this myself. In fact I have seen many product comparison/review posts. As long as the review is honest and not a personal attack in some way I see no harm in it. Maybe a mod can provide some feedback.

I don't know if it's a rule or not but comparison threads in years past would turn into flame wars between people passionate about their product brand.

I enjoy reading educated comparisons of products on this forum. I have learned a lot and find it one of the best things about the forum. I don't go to the CORVETTE forum to read about politics!
I've used all the waxes and really like Wolfgangs , with Zaino close behind!

This is the type of comparison testing I like. This was 7 years ago.

I guess this can be deleted then. Gotta admit, i've been on message boards for over 15 years and never have I seen a rule posted that you cannot ask for comparisons.
However just looking at the related topics below, I do also have to admit that I don't recall a message board where people were so quick to judge, and almost seemed to immediately post negative replies to those who asked such question so perhaps I can understand the reason for this rule now.

I have been a forum member for almost ten years and have never seen a rule which prohibits product comparisons by members. for example there are hundreds of threads on comparing various brands of tires and batteries. When Autogeek was active on the Forum they would constantly compare the differences in their various products. I think the question concerning Zano and Top coat is finding someone who has experience in using both products who can provide a comparison.

i agree and the ''tire and battery '' comment is valid and i intend to use it when buying a battery to replace our 11+ year old red top shortly . . . peace.

I guess *I* will be the FIRST to offer a review then. It should be here in a week or so and I intended to have a full comparison review completely with Pics and video.
Right now I am determining my cost for each Layer and each 3 layer application I do with Zaino for each of my many yearly car shows.

Regarding "reviews," issues that come up there are, sometimes they are thinly disguised venting opportunities that belong in the Transactions Feedback section.
Or conversely, they are not very subtle vehicles for product/Non Supporting Vendor promotion.
Promotion is admittedly subjective, but some products and Non Supporting Vendors are promoted more often than others, so such posts might be removed more quickly than other apparently similar posts.
Both instances will result in the removal of such postings. Some will result in a caution regarding Non Supporting Vendors.

No rule as far as I know prohibiting comparison reviews. We do not allow vendors to post direct or indirect references to the products and services of rivals. That would apply no matter whether it was SV vs. SV. SV vs. NSV, NSV vs. SV or NSV vs. NSV. By application, we have included obvious fanbois in the prohibition because it often seems they are doing the bidding for their friendly SV or NSV. Once a comparison review has been done, we don't allow the reviewer to continue to post the review results in multiple sections and over subsequent weeks and months as to do so would seem to have shifted to marketing and promotion.
If there is going to be a comparative review, it should be an honest one with full disclosure and no hidden agenda.

I'm a die hard car guy since my dad put me behind the wheel of a 56 vette ...at tender age of 6 and that is how it all started.
I have my subjective opinions on all sorts of care care products from actually using them however never have I done a "real" legit comparison...kinda takes the fun out of it and makes it a "serious thing".
I'm an Industrial Engineer and skeptical of any comparison / eval that does not follow standards. Any comparison where someone uses product X then next time uses product Y really is no comparison - and simply subjective opinion as to the results.
Therefore any legit comparison of a "sealant" should have two identical cars; same model, same year, same mgfr, same color preferably a solid black. They would be identically prepared, meaning correction at least on the hood for the eval - so each clear coat is starting out exactly the same. Then they would be subjected to identical enviornment for a year...for instance sit outside completely exposed. Wash them by hand twice a month and inspect after 12 months.
Video below is how to do an objective unbiased eval. Determine level of damage from various types of car washing and what it will do to your clear coat. If you are a fan of 5th Gear you probably have seen.
Try products out yourself and have fun with it dont rely on someone elses opinion . For instance, I have heard some people don't like Corvettes... clearly they don't know what they are talking about. And my parting thought.... sometimes the most expensive stuff is not always the best...but sometimes it is.

John, agreed on washing at home... thats my never ending soap box with my customers. Last 8yrs i only use waterless or rinseless formulas. I use that video to prove my point that washing anywhere else but at home is disaster guaranteed ... provided you are washing correctly at home.

so after 19 posts, nobody chimed in with a review, or useful opinion on products and/or the original post's inquiry of if they liked F11, or Zaino better.
I've always liked the Liquid Glass, but recently have tried the F11 and soon to investigate other products as you don't always have the time to do a full on wax of the entire car.
The F11 gives a nice shine, smooth to the touch, easy to apply...however, I'm still evaluating it's durability and ease of cleaning after cars have been driven. it looks great on my vette but it also hasn't been driven yet in 2 weeks since I've applied. it also has a coat of Liquid Glass on it to ensure protection. I CAN say that you cant seem to quick clean with a spray detail as it seems to streak/smudge over the F11, and to use the F11 every time you want to spruce up a daily driver can get awful expensive and cost prohibitive.
