How do YOU protect aluminium rims?
Hi guys!
Yesterday it was 14 degrees ( celcius! ) here , today it was freezing.
So, as I don't want to work in the cold anymore I started polishing my turbovec's.
Rim 1 is done, will get some new black paint on it when I do the rest of the chassis.
How would you protect it? I don't really like to clearcoat rims, especially highly polished ones. I heard WD40 before, but I have a strong hate for WD40 in close contact to anything painted.
Yes, I'm that difficult!
Standard car wax? Are there special wheel waxes? I've never really been into detailling. I only have ( atm) the basic megiuars products, I do some paintwork so I got cutting compound, some polishes and the carnuba wax.
As always, thanks!

There are special wheel waxes and sealers that you can check out from Autogeek. As with any wax or sealer they need to be reapplied as needed. The best is to have them professionally refurbished and clear coated for durability but that can be expensive.

When I do a complete detail on the wheels, I use one of the wheel coating products such as Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating. Makes in-between clean ups easier as well. Stuff is a little pricey, but the 4-ounce bottle goes a long way.
