I just came across this, obviously most of us have our own products we like and our own methods but thought this was a good starting point for guys new to cleaning or detailing.
I'm not a professional detailer, but have done many of my cars over the years and cars for friends, and the results have always been great. That being said, I learn something new either from my own experience or reading/viewing detailing info. The info. you posted validates a lot of what I'm doing, but there is other info. I may have overlooked or forgotten over time.
Thanks for taking the time to post and share the information. Things like this is what makes the Forum a great resource. It's always great when members like you take their time to share such great information.
A close friend of mine recently bought a used, black Nissan Rouge. It looked pretty good when she first got it, but then she washed it and found out that it was covered with scratches. She fell for the old heavy glaze on black used car trick. She now regrets that she didn't have me check it out before she bought it. I told her that even people that know about detailing think long and hard about committing to the upkeep required of a black car.
She's now saving money to pay for a professional detailing and this will go a long way in helping her understand the process and why it costs so much. I'm also going to send her some YouTube videos to watch.
Appreciate all the “thank you’s” guys. Makes me happy to contribute to what is a pretty good group of guys and a great resource for our hobby/obsession.
