windshield pit cure?
I'm wondering if there is anything good out there to fill very small pits in the windshield. The time they're most noticeable is when you are driving into setting sun - I'm sure you all know what I mean.
Thanks in advance guys!

Polishing a telescope mirror is EXTREMELY expensive and time consuming, and even then can have distortion................re: Hubble trouble
Nobody would ever spend that kind of money on a windshield. Polishing will most definitely cause distortion.

I agree with others. If you have to polish the windshield enough to remove pitting it would be very expensive and ruin the windshield because of the distortion. Light scratches can sometimes be polished out but nothing more severe like pits. Windshield pitted, just replace it.

I polished all the side glass on my 69 Chevelle years ago with the Cerium Oxide kit from Eastwood, from the outside the glass looks new, if you really look from inside you can see some small marks, but I don't really see any distortion, took forever to do but was worth the effort.

I opened the link - looks easy - just time consuming -
but all the comments about distortion on the glass has me concerned about trying it.
anyone else had any luck or damaged windshield

Pitted windshields are a normal issue here in Colorado. Can't get away from it, especially any winter driven vehicle. I have tried many so called glass polishes during my younger years here, but nothing really changed it much. Best to just replace. Get glass insurance if you live in an area like I do. Seems like our winter cars get a new windshield every 2 years if they don't get cracked first.
