Ceramic Coating??? Experiences?
Has anyone here gotten their previous cars ceramic coated and are there any downsides? As I understand it they do prep the pain extensively and the car must be cured indoors for 24 hours.
Anyone have experience with this? I'm planning Sebring Orange btw.
Buffing out the scratches will degrade or remove the coating and that is just a fact as you stated. What can be used however and it works pretty dang good is CarPro Essence+ Buff it over a coating to fill minor scratches. It is not abrasive. .
It is a fact that to remove swirl marks, layer of paint is gone. However, proper preparation and subsequent maintenance is unavoidable, but I kept it at a minimum.
My cars are not collectors, so, for me, I am more after preservation rather than perfection. Other than weekly or as necessary wash and RejeX twice a year, I have only clay/polish my low mileage '05 twice, one after first four year then, last year before ceramic coating. For maintenance, I pressure wash and blow dry my two coated car every other week or as needed, apply Overcoat once in a while as well. Paint chip is unavoidable, I simply do a touch up and move on. I save correction when the time comes for strip and re-coat.
Maybe off the subject, another area is tire maintenance. Since using Optimum Tire Protection and Coating, I no longer have to spend time scrubbing and reapply dressing on tire during and after each wash.
Coating, for me anyway, is life changing.
