Default Chrome Wheels Question

I have factory chrome wheels on my Z. Looking for a spray on product that you wipe off versus having to rinse it off. As many of you know brake dust is a problem and after a good cruise chrome wheels look filthy.
So spray on wipe off would be ideal, appreciate suggestions.

I used windex. Works great. Save your old towels for this job then toss them in the trash when finished.

For several years now, I've used Chadwicks TriplePlay on chrome wheels and glass. Excellent lubricity, cleansing and finish. I've been using it for about six years now and have just about used up all the remaining product I have. Unfortunately it appears the original yellow Tripleplay product is no longer on their website, apparently replaced by newer products. Absolutely no micro-scratching, chrome still looks new.

Recently I've had comparable results with a mixture of Carpro Ech2O and Carpro Reload. I mix it an ounce of each into 14 oz of distilled water and use it as a spray-on wipe-off product on wheels which have a light to moderate coat of brake dust on them.

Without question, the best bang for the buck in a waterless wash / detail spray product is Wolfgang's "Uber Rinseless Wash" concentrate. This has replaced Optimum No-Rinse as my go-to product for those tasks. Even as a waterless wash, I have mine diluted in the detail spray dilution, as it provides more lubrication and seems to clean better. It easily cleans brake dust off my wheels, and leaves a little polymer protection behind. Paint, glass, plastics, wheels, etc. It works like any other waterless wash, but leaves a glossier finish behind.

Autogeek sells it for just $20 per 16oz bottle, and usually has 20-25% sales going on. I think I bought my first bottle for $15 or so. In the detail spray dilution, one 16oz bottle of Uber Rinseless Wash makes over 5 gallons of detail spray. I can't justify buying anything else anymore. LOL

why is it that you want a wipe off vs spray off product?

if brake dust is your enemy, I’d put some type of SiO2 product on there to help repel it so that maintainability become profoundly easier.

That being said, the two products that I would reach for would be spray on and blast off with a pressure washer. For this, I like CarPro HydrO2 lite or Gyeon Wetcoat. Virtually the same product.

after coated, something like PolishAngel super sport would really keep them looking pristine and protected. That would be your spray on wipe off product

I have Wolfgang Uber and the Ech2o/reload combo and use them regularly- I adore both of those products, but I don't use them as a wheel cleaner or wheel detailer.

I use Uber as a clay lube, detail spray, and interior and jamb cleaner. It’s amazingly versatile depending on how you cut it. Awsome Swiss Army knife product for sure!

the Ech2o Reload is referred to as Merlin’s Elixir. I call it BMJ- blue magick juice and it makes an amazing detail spray and mild waterless wash agent. Another clutch product in my arsenal.

I was gifted a gallon of this from a good friend. It really is a good waterless wash, but, holy hell, the scent is amazing. Literally, I will unscrew the cap just to take a sniff, even when I am not using it. You guys always spec the best scents for your products, hands down.

You really can't go wrong with it. In the detail spray dilution, it is just SO versatile. I use it for all kinds of tasks. Waterless washing, drying aid after bucket washing, glass cleaning, interior wipe-downs, door jambs, removing dust when arriving at car shows, wiping brake dust off my wheels after a cruise, and I even use it to spritz my pads before compounding and polishing. And that $20 just got you 5 gallons of it.

100%

Swiss Army Knife product. Inexpensive, used for many applications, amazing performance at just about all it is used for. I believe it contains polymers so the shine and protection it offers (to my eyes) is better than ONR.

Highly recommended product to purchase and experiment with.
