Default Ceramic Pro coating

Has anyone had Ceramic Pro coating applied to their vehicle. I am thinking of having some form of protection applied. Looking at this product because I can have it done locally. One person I know has used this business and product and was happy with the results.

Sorry, I’m not familiar with that brand of coating at all. Something tells me this might not be the one to go with. Have you explored more widely known professional install products?

Did the dealer that applied this product to your car say you would need to bring it in every year to be inspected. The application he was showing me had a five year warranty, he also had a Gold package with a ten year. He said the inspection and touch up would be about $250. If it stay on for five years why do you need to spend this every year.

He never told me I needed to bring the car in annually. My "warranty" is for 4 years however. I will be bringing back this spring for him to look at it but there is no $250.00 annual maintenance. By the way to let you know the paint correction which was pretty extensive was the key to the car coming out like it did. Do I think Ceramic Pro is any better or any worse than other ceramic coatings? No I do not. I believe the secret to a car with an excellent appearance is all in the paint correction. What I really like about the ceramic coating is the ease of maintaining the appearance.

Regardless of brand, the SiO2 content of the coating in time with weather, washing, elements, etc...will tend to dissipate and need to be recharged. This is easily done with a product like CarPro Reload - which infuses SiO2 back into the coating with every application. It is a silica spray sealant and maintenance product for ceramic coatings.

I'm not saying this is all you will or should get for your $250 spent, but I highly suspect that a product like Reload will be part of the procedure.

Ceramic Pro is a very popular, well-marketed professional coating. The annual maintenance will likely include a good wash, inspection and application of their 'lite' coating/maintenance product 'Sport'.

They're big into multiple layers; the more layers, the greater the longevity claim. Warranty is only as good as rhe shop standing behind it so be comfortable w the installer.

Their installers can register w CarFax so it'll always follow the car if you're into that kind of thing but I'd guess it's really of dubious practical value...just a marketing bullet point.

There's a ton of great coatings out there, never really heard much bad about Ceramic Pro in particular (never lived with it either) so as long as you're happy w installer, probably no worries. End of the day, they're certainly no fly-by-night brand if that's your concern.

Like other professional detailing services, buy the installer moreso than the product they install; good shops use good stuff.

Edit: Curious about maintaining warranty, from CP Website. Short version, don't miss the annual inspection. Warranties on stuff like this and their actual value/effectiveness is likely VERY installer dependent...meaning 'Caveat Emptor' in my mind.

Thanks to all for the intel, I think I will revisit the shop and clarify the follow up procedures. Mine is a 2019 Blade Silver with 6700 miles, it has always been garage kept. Currently it has no road chips or dings. The reason I’m looking at this, we are planning a trip this spring to the end of the road in Santa Monica, California. I will put a front bra on but I really hate chips on the front of one my vehicles. I was told this would add a little more protection. Your black really looks great by the way.

more than the brand of coating itself, I’d be more concerned with the level of paint correction they are capable of performing. getting the clear coat flat is by far job #1

Enjoy the road trip, long drives in fun cars are always a great adventure; the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination...sometimes moreso.

The coating won't really offer much in the way of significant protection from road debris, it's strenghts lay in other areas like easy cleaning, protection from environmental, other contamination and such. A lot of marketing w regards to coatings is focused on 'hardness' which in the end is relatively insignificant in a practical sense.

Still coatings are a very beneficial thing in my mind. As @Loki 6 mentioned, prep is key to coating happiness!

Thanks...we really went 'all in' on that one; Full PPF, coating, tint...it's done quite well and was one heckuva fun project...especially cuz i didn't have to lift a finger 😄

Looking forward to hearing about how it turns out! 😎

I have pretty much bailed out of CF but thought I would pop in to see what is going on and saw this. As a pro detailer that studied and dealt with over 20+ Ceramic products I do have an opinion. Loki 6 has it nailed prep is 90% of a good coating project is prep. Ceramic Pro is difficult to apply and the company applying it really needs to know what they are doing. I have had a ton of cars come into my shop where other installers screwed up the install and had a ton of shadows. I installed the product because their marketing was great and brought me customers. I did not like the product itself, it was mediocre in shine and did nothing to bring out paint qualities.
What is unfortunate is Ceramic Pro lets anyone with the word Detail in their title to install the product, rather than have requirements that you know what you are doing. You get a pantload of wannabe's and quite frankly unscrupulous installers. I hired a guy and he told me my competition was watering the product down knowing full well customers would not come back for warranty work. It is unfortunate the greed of Ceramic Pro out runs the quality of the install
Ask for references and customer that are over a year old.
I used Zaino at my shop, and still believe it is the best out there for a Polymer. I found a combination of products that just made the paint jump and look 10 feet deep, plus bring out what a paint manufacturer was trying to accomplish. It was not about the shine but making the paint pop and look better than anyone has ever seen. I did that with Zaino and had customers tell me they could no longer compete in car shows as they always won. They would be featured but not judged.,
With ceramicss coming into it own, I moved on from Zaino but missed the POP it gave the paint.
There are a ton of Ceramic Products out there all claiming to be the best. Any one of them can put on a decent shine and give some durability, but you goal should be bringing out the best in what the paint manufacturer was trying to accomplish. Very few people get that..
I DID NOT find the same with the run of the mill Ceramic Products as I did with Zaino, 99% of Ceramics just produce a shine and hydrophobic qualities but they do not bring out the best in the paint
Long story short Feynlabs products fit the bill I was looking for. Not only did this product produce a great shine but provided the depth and brought out what the paint manufacturer was trying to create. I am not associated with the company at all just know what is the absolute best based on my standard, which is bringing out the best in the paint
My current drill is Feynlabs Ceramic Lite,
Feynlabs Pure Wash - Most people don't know but if your car is Ceramic Coated you need a wash for Ceramic coatings
Feynlbs Detail Spary V3 or
Polish Angel High Gloss - Not cheap but way over the top, best detail spray I have dealt with. I would use it after a car wash and customer would wet their pants over how awesome the car would look.
Your interests will vary

Most ceramic coatings/sealants can be used over PPF w/ no issues. XPEL (and others) have coatings designed for PPF. Methinks the key to PPF usage is partly avoiding any petroleum based products. I've been squirting Polish Angel Cosmic, High Gloss Spritzes and Kamikaze Overcoat at our PPF'd car for the last 2 years with no issues. The PPF was coated with Kamikaze Surface Film coating when installed.
