Default Drying towels...

So, I'll admit laziness on my part in not searching this out but my reasoning is I don't want to go down the rabbit hole ending up more confused. I purchased Mckee's 37 hydro blue for my Range Rover (daily driver) and my last wash on the vette I used it after the wash and was quickly reminded at how well I found it to work on the DD. With that, I have a variety of MF towels of varying qualities but I noticed that I not only needed fewer towels but the larger basket weave towel combined with a few plush seemed to do best. Sometimes when it comes to wanting the best I'll factor price in more than normal but in this case given the towels touch the paint I wanted to get a feel for what experienced people thought.

So, I naturally decided to look at buying some known to be higher quality towels and was amazed at how many companies but also how many lines each of them carry. Yikes.

A few facts -
2015 3LT vert with 17,000 miles is what I'll be drying
I use the Adams cannon with mega foam with a micro mitI do 2 bucket with guardsI always wipe jams, sills, etc and assume what I have is sufficient in these areas?I'm the 3rd owner and I'm fairly confident that nothing has been done with regard to protection.
So far I don't use any drying aides (other than my echo to start) or waterless wash - that might be best for another thread as to whether I should be?

Thanks so much for the advice and insight, the forum truly is my go-to for seemingly everything Corvette.

God bless,

David

I've been through many drying towels and found these to be the best.

Best towel I ever found for drying off a freshly washed car or truck is one of the larger purple towels Walmart sells for $9-10. You can find them in the auto section. They hold a ton of water and are soft and don't scratch.

When I use a towel I like these:

all drying towels work better when they are a tad damp and not completely dry

Griot's PFM is pricey but fantastic. Also the Adam's Ultra Plush Towel is a great performer.

I have been using theses towels for years, have 3 large ones, takes 2 to dry my truck and one for wife’s SUV. I also use Kobalt 40v leaf blower before I hit with a towel, if in sun I then use Turtle wax wet wax to make sure no water spots

I suggest that you give these a try. While really not a devoted drying towel but an all purpose towel, they do a great job. This towel has simplified my detailing as I use them for polish removal and application of detail sprays and coatings as well as for drying. If you use a detail spray as a drying aid they are particularly effective. They are available in many colors so you can separate them for different uses.
