Vert top cleaning?

I am looking for yea or nay info.
happy holidays,

First off, I'd go in with a good APC like CarPro Multi-X (@ 5:1 if hammered or never cleaned before, @10:1 if normal contamination and has had maintenance before) and a good boars hair or synthetic brush and agitate all the contamination off the fabric. You want to get it clean before you protect it. Then I'd use IGL Fabric Coating and never worry about it again for a year or so.
I'd likely look over it every month or so and use a weak dilution of the Multi-X to maintain it if need be - maybe 15:1.
Happy Holidays!

I vacuumed the top thoroughly, slowly, up and down, then sideways, three times. Then, I took a lint roller and thoroughly, slowly, up and down, then sideways, three times.
I use Ragggtop Cleaner, Protectant, and a Haartz/Ragtop Brush.
Then, I lightly brushed the top with cleaner. One thing that annoys me is no matter how much water I use to rinse it off, I get a milky residue that come off the top as I am rinsing it.. It was supposed to rain hard Wednesday, so, I went out and cleaned it, then let it set for three hours. No more residue.
I then took it into the garage and wiped the down. It was amazing how easy it was do get the brake dust off.
when, the top dried,I took the protectant and sprayed it on the top. A WORD OF CAUTUON: Protectant will get old, and when it does, it clumps. That makes a mess on the top, which is hard to clean up, it leaves spots. Spray the protectant on a large cloth to see if it clumps. If it is a spray, you are good to go.
I cut out a piece of cardboard to protect the rear window, while I am spraying, and use towels to protect the other windows. I put on thee to four coats of protectant
