Default Sponge or Brush?

Ok, I never really woried too much about my car finish until I got the C5..... So I need some help.
When washing the car, what's the best proceedure? I once heard somewhere that using a brush is better than a sponge, cause you don't rub the dirt into the paint. Any truth to this?
Polish, glaze, wax... what's the right order? Do I need them all?
Thanks for the help in advance!!

I like using a cotton wash mitt, make sure it's 100% cotton, look for the symbol. You do not want to use an abrasive product on your car, there are good synthetic products like Zaino, if you want to use a wax then a product like P21S is about the best shine for a carnauba wax product, of course with wax your protection will last about 4-6 weeks, with some of the synthetic products your protection will last 4-6 months.

I'll post a link to: "My Washing Guide" here on the forum. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...newtopic&id=10

The condition of your paint is what determines what you need. How well has your C5 been maintained. I suggest that you, regardless if your car has been maintained well or not, that you clay your car. Whatever waxing system you will choose, and there are many out there, that you give your car an intensive cleaning including a clay bar. Here's a link to "The Ultimate Clay Bar Guide" that is posted here on the forum as well.http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=455771.

Once you do a rather intensive cleaning and protecting of your vette you'll feel even better about it.

Sheepskin mitten for washing! Zaino Polish is all you need! I now use micro-fiber towells for buffing also and have used Canon Carisma cotton towells with much success.

Absolutely agree with what you have heard about brushes. For general washing that is all I use and you avoid putting minor swirls in the finish by using a mitt or sponge that could be contaminated. Keep her clean :seeya

100% cotton for everything. The only place that seems to make true 100% cotton wash mitts anymore is NAPA.
