Light Scuff Removal - Toothpaste?
I have a light scuff on my car in a small area It could be paint transfer but I'm not sure. When I rub across it I do not feel a scratch. I know back in the day toothpaste was a safe mild abbrasive to remove such marks. Is it still safe and effective with modern vehicles like ours? Any other recommendations?

Cleaner wax, polish, or polishing compound. Start with least abrasive first.

3M Hand Glaze works BEST. Buy it, put some on a micro fiber cloth and rub til it comes out.

I have used AC Delco Cleaner Wax to remove light scratches or minor paint defects on my car. It is a mild abrasive and does a good job.

We used toothpaste as we had no other option. Today there are many options, all far superior to toothpaste. Go get it and good luck!

Goo Gone has worked on some surface paint or plastic transfers for me.

There's a wide variety of car-specific products designed to do just what you want.
I don't think I'd ever be desperate enough to apply toothpaste to my Corvette.

I am moving you here to Car Care, please educate yourself and listen to others and keep toothpaste for your teeth.. your car will thank you. If you do not have power equipment, there are things like Griot's Garage Complete Compound at the very least. You can use this by hand. I would possibly invest in a random Orbit Buffer and ask questions and read up in this section.. you can do a great job yourself without breaking the bank.
