Is there something you can wipe down the engine with that makes it shine and lasts? I dont need to clean it, just want it to shine and look clean like the interior.
Meguires now sells a product called "Engine Kote". They only sell it in the gallon and I ended up buying some through a local auto paint store. It is a water-based product.
I tried it and, yes, it does make the engine look great (see pic below). The only problem is that it also attracts a lot of dust. It's easy to apply....just put it in a spray bottle and go crazy. Then take a clean cotton cloth and "tamp" the really wet spots. I also took pains to avoid the injector covers and the opti-crap distributor.
Several years ago, there was another product that I used called "Motor Glow". It was a silicone based product and really made an engine look spectacular.
I thought I'd try Lexol Vinylex. It's supposed to dry so it does not attract dust. I have used Stoner Trimshine and you wipe it down after applying and it leaves the plastics shiny but you will get some dust.
