Default Ceramic Pro ION

I just bought a 2020 corvette, torch red; the paint is in excellent condition, it came with PPF in the front end, and I want to protect it. I’ve been looking into ceramic coating and it looks like the best is Ceramic Pro ION, thoughts?

I got quoted $2K for Ceramic Pro Ultimate ION which includes paint correction, 2 layers of Ceramic Pro ION base coats followed by 1 layer of ION top coat with a lifetime warranty; it does require a yearly inspection that will give the car $100 detail service, which I’m OK with.

I have never owned an expensive car, let alone an exotic car like a 2020 C8 convertible, so coughing up $2K to protect the paint is a bit difficult for me, yet it is on an awesome C8 convertible, not cheap, maybe I shouldn’t get cheap with the ceramic coating now; I need experienced opinions.

Additional information before I get to my questions:
  • I don’t have a lot of time to spend detailing the car
  • Ceramic coating is supposed to make maintenance easy
  • The car is mostly garaged, at home and at work
  • I drive it around 55 miles round trip to work once a week, and around town on the weekends

My questions:
  1. Anyone has Ceramic Pro ION that can opine on the quality?
  2. Is Ceramic Pro ION with lifetime warranty worth $2K?
  3. Is paint correction necessary or even possible given that the car is covered with PPF on the front end?

I appreciate your advice.

I hope you know that “ lifetime “ on that coating is 7 years. Ceramic pro is a very decent product. Is it the best? Well that is subjective and an opinion driven perspective. That 7 years is under ideal conditions. Decon and polish is always recommeneded before applying a coating, as any defects on surface will be trapped under the coating for it’s life. Proper inspection can reveal defects in “ of the floor “ cars. The devil is in the details when coating. PPF can be polished ( not the same as the paint) Ask that. Also, make sure you get all info to maintain warranty first, check out a finished car or two to see if you like. While a little high, rates vary from locale to locale, so it’s in the upper end but not too crazy.

Thanks for the input, I feel better about “paint correction” when PPF is already in place. Ceramic Pro now offers a ultimate package with lifetime warranty using their ION product.

I now found that Feynlab apparently is better than Ceramic Pro ION, so I’ll keep looking into it.

Assuming your not interested in Correcting the paint Yourself .........I would suggest PAINT CORRECTION
from a Recommended Experienced Person in Your Area............and then consider applying one of the top
consumer brands of Coatings Yourself (watch YOUTUBE VIdeos) such as APEX, Car Pro, Feynlab, Gyeon
etc..................

I would highly recommend ceramic coating in general. It does make cleaning much more easier for those that don't have time or just don't like to spend the time cleaning. After ceramic coating, my general wash routine is to foam it with my foam cannon, let it soak for 5 minutes and rinse. Generally, no hand washing is even needed.

Dragging this up....I just got my new Frontier with this coating. It wasn't cheap! Now they didn't do much of a paint correction, 200 miles, they did a clay & decontamination thing. I also got the 7 year version.. It does look great. Waiting for it to cure for 2 weeks.
Anyway, how is this holding up for the OP, or anyone else that has it?
