Occasionally I use microfiber with Z6, but I still prefer cotton towels for the drying and wax and/or Zaino removal. I find MF towels are best suited to windows. I got them from http://www.properautocare.com :seeya
I've used them for a long time on windows. I'm now starting to use them to remove wax from my daily driver and Zaino from my vette with good results.
It took me some time to absorb the whole thread. I really wish that I had seen it before. Some times a thread will have good info and some times not so good. This one I would say was about 25% good the rest of it you can put in the shredder!
I have been using quality microfiber on my car for the past 2 years now. :yesnod: I purchase mine from pakshak.com. If you join the detailing site, Autopia.org, you are entitled to purchase the 16x16 MF towels at $2.00 each plus shipping, from Ranney at pakshak.com.
Customer service is great and the towels are excellent in quality. I know that there are many different opinions in regard to microfiber; the key is choosing the appropriate towels for the job. Not all microfiber is created equal, so it's important to educate yourself when purchasing them.
I've been using a MF Drying Towel (25"x35") from Giriot's Garage on my '90 since last summer. Does a great job and there's no sign of any problems on the black finish. Try http://www.griotsgarage.com for more information. It costs $26.95 but I think it's well worth it.

I used mf once. I used Charisma towels to bring up the shine and finished with mf towel off. It produced a finish that IMO was "The next step." I'm very pleased. :yesnod:
I use both , 100% cotton Fieldcrest and Microfiber], but I prefer Microfiber for taking Zaino off. However, the Fieldcrest Charisma's feel great after I get out of the shower!! :D

Perfectly stated!!
I've got a bunch from the Pakster myself. I also recently tried out his 24x24 sized MF towels and they're fantastic!
BTW, I believe Ranney's offering free shipping now. Can't get much better than that!
I ordered some microfiber towels from http://www.tacscar.com/ based on Traceys2vettes recommendation and they are fantastic. I've never been steered wrong by Tracey & Ernie.

:)
Yes, ThumperAC, you can still purchase the towels at the discounted price. Just contact Ranney via email at http://www.PakShak.com and tell him that you are a registered Autopia member (provide your screen name) and that you would like to purchase the towels at the Autopia discount.
His service is great and they are a very nice towel for the money. I've had zero problems with the PakShak towels. Hope you like them as well. :)
