Is there any one rust removal product that works better than the others?
I want to clean up the rust stains that form around the various trim screws.
Specifically under the hood and around the hatch.
I would apply Fluid Film (Aerosol Can) with a toothbrush to satisfy this problem
Im guessing this is on Blackish Colored (manganese or zinc phosphate) Fasteners
You’re guessing right!
The rust is on fasteners, as well as on the body area around the base of the screw.
I’m thinking CLR gently applied to the body to clean up the rust stain?
If there is a stain on the paint (the car body) I would start with a mild polishing compound
as I dont know what the chemical contents of CLR would do to your paint
Start applying FLUID FILM to ALL your exposed fasteners
