clean windshield
HELP!!! pulling hair out of my head. New 03vert, 3 month old. I cannot for the love of god clean the windshield. Windex, auto detailer cleaner, foam, glass rags, nothing will clean this window. What do you use for a smear free, or close to smear free windshield. :banghead:

Next Dimension Professional Window Cleaner...works just as well as Stoner Glass cleaner (at half the price). Comes in a spray can. Pick it up at Advanced Auto all the time.

Adding to the others relpies - best results happen when glass is cool and cleaned in a shaded area.

I also have a helluva time getting the windshield clean....it's never been spotless...seems impossible to get it that way.

OK here is the tip of the day from the Old guy Me !!!
been doing this for over 40 years...
Stoner glass cleaner is very good...
glass temp between 40 and 60 F
here it comes.......!!!
Use coffee filters... they absorb all the road oils that most other paper products including news paper smear around... I used newspaper for years but coffee filter are the answer... buy 100 generic at the grocery store for 89 cents... they are especially good for the inside windshield which traps all the vinyl and leather vapors...but again the temps has to be between 40 and 60 F

I got a can of Stoner's Invisible Glass for $3.95. It had a $4.00 rebate. I figured it was a deal. It also did a great job inside and out when used with microfiber cloths. :cheers:

I use a wet piece of newspaper, warer only, to wash the windows, than dry them with a dry piece. There are no streaks, and they seem to stay cleaner longer.

I did the following on my 03, had to repeat twice.
Bon Ami or BarKeepers Friend, looks like scouring powder but isn't, it is very fine, wet window apply..shake it on and scrub with sponge or rag, rinse and rinse again. This is obviously for the outside of the glass.
I then used a product called SPRAYWAY an aerosol glass cleaner, which is marketed under several names, it is the same product you can buy at GM dealers in aerosol can. When looking at cans the manufacturer of product is CLAIRE manufacturing, SPRAYWAY is their name on product, blue and white can. They private label for others.

It tough in the summer time to keep them clean with the humidity , especially a vert... I use Stoner glass cleaner and a microfiber rag...

I use newspaper and GM glass cleaner. If your windows are tinted, I wouldn't use the newspaper though
