Default Question about Pinnacle application

Quick question for all you car care gurus out there. I've been using Zaino for the past year or so with pretty good results but I wanted to try something new so I picked up the Pinnacle Liquid Souvereign car care kit. My question is this, should I use the pre-wax cleaner that came with the Pinnacle kit to remove the existing Zaino or can I just apply the wax over the Zaino that's already on the car?

Danke Schoen!

You can apply the wax right over Zaino. Personally, I think the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion is absolutely fantastic stuff, and I would highly recommend using that first, then applying the wax. It leaves a smooth surface that the Pinnacle wax will spread over like butter. Try it and see. :D

Thanks for the advice DsC5. I'm gonna store the vette for the winter pretty soon, so I'm wondering if leaving the existing wax on would be good for protection (more coats of wax should equal less bad stuff can get to the paint in the winter...right?)

Thanks,

Are you storing it inside? In that case, I'd say it wouldn't make much of a difference how much wax is on the paint. Also, I'm skeptical of the layerability of wax after the second coat. I think anything over 2 is a waste.

If you're driving it outside and looking for protection, I would suggest something like Zaino, it is much more durable than carnauba waxes.

Grass is always greener on the other side. Just stick with the Zanio.
And you'll be fine.

And sometimes it is greener. Pinnacle Soveran will rid you of the reflective look and provide greater depth, wetness, and 3D appearance. But to each there own ! Both products have their faithful .... I just find that diehard Zaino fans always throw Pinnacle down and yet have never tried it

As for your question. Pinnacle paintwork is not very strong or abrasive , if you really want to make sure Zaino is gone try denatured alcohol prior. As said above, you can however add over Zaino and still get great results. I recently saw a chemical by Einzett? that removes synthetic/acrylic sealants, maybe at Detailers Paradise.

Did you mean to say "grass isn't always greener on the other side"?

BTW...what did you not like about Pinnacle Souveran? I am assuming you have tried it in order to make your comparison...

Zaino is an excellent product, however I found that Pinnacle Souvern looks better on my black '91.
