Well, first off don't ever spray it on wheels that are even slightly warm. Secondly, it does matter what kind of wheels you have. If they're clear coated you should be fine. However, if do get it on your wheels and your wheels have protection on them it will probably strip off that protection.
What kind of finish do your wheels have and what kind of tyres do you have?
It's nasty stuff, I've had it dull clear coat on wheels on another car.
It's never going to get near my Corvette :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

In fairness, it does say on the bottle to wear gloves and not to get it on the wheels. Just wondering if it's even safe for rubber tyres if it's that corrosive.

Anyone who's used it to clean normal black-wall tyres wanna share an opinion?

Actually, when I started detailing cars that's what I used on the tyres. Not just on white walls, but just to get the crud off the tires so that when I put on the tyre dressing they'd have a deeper black look to them. It does do a fantastic job of doing that.

I have used it on quite a few old rasty looking blackwall tires as well as not so bad looking tires. I haven't noticed any evidence of a problem with the rubber. On the really rasty many year old sunbleached tires I used it on, they looked good after about 3 applications and scrubbing with Belch White then 4 or 5 applications of Armor All. Would have been better with some of the rubber dressings available now.
I just don't like having anyting that caustic around wheels or tires that I care about. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on beater car I wanted to clean up though.
I used Bleche White for many years in the old whitewall days.
Still using it on my '69's white letters.
Never used gloves.
Just a brush and rinsed tire and wheel quickly.
Never had a problem.
Best stuff on the market for whitewalls and white letters.
