Default Zanio Application Methodology

Zanio is a synthetic polymer wax, a compromise between a polymer sealant and a natural wax. Z-5 is a non-abrasive polish that’s helps to hide swirl marks and other surface imperfections without affecting the integrity of the vehicles clear coat protection.

Although Z-2 produces the most gloss of the polishes it is more optically clear then Z-5 and will highlight any surface imperfections. The brand is named ‘Show Car’ as it relies on a very thoroughly prepared paint film surface to produce the best results. It can be applied by hand or by using a random orbital buffer and foam pads.

Zanio’s polymers do not require a lengthy cross-link (cure) time as ZFX is formulated to accelerate the time requirements.

Zanio Application Methodology:
(Z-7 Wash Concentrate, Z-2 and Z-5 Polish, ZFX Cure Accelerator, Z-6 Gloss Enhancer Spray)

·First, and most importantly, thoroughly prepare your paint film surface
(Wash-Detailers Clay-Polish-Pre-Wax Cleaner)
·Wash again with Z-7, the vehicle is now ready for the Zaino treatment.
·Mix solution (one ounce of Z-5 or Z-2 in a mixing bottle, and add 4 or 5 drops of ZFX.Shake vigorously for one minute
·Wipe down the entire vehicle with Z-6 using 100% cotton Microfiber towel.
·Shake the Z-Solution again for 30 seconds.
·Lightly spray a Microfiber applicator with Z-6. You want the pad to be damp, not wet. Place a small amount (nickel sized) of Z-Solution on the pad and lightly spread onto your paint. Check the applicator pad frequently for any contaminants it may have picked up.
·First pass: apply (super thin) roof to floor on vertical surfaces (doors, fenders and skirts) and across on horizontal surfaces (roof, hood and trunk)
·Between each pass and after buffing, wipe down the entire vehicle with Z-6 and a clean Microfiber towel.
·Second pass (super thin) apply in direction of airflow, horizontal surfaces hood to trunk, vertical surfaces front to back.
·Third pass (thin) and any subsequent layer(s): apply in same ‘direction of airflow’
·As air is the primary catalyst for the wax to dry, low air temperatures and / or humidity may effect the drying time requirements.
·After sufficient drying time, about 1 hour, do a quick swipe test with your finger. If no smearing or drag is evident, the product is ready to be removed
·Buff off the Z-Solution using clean using 100% cotton Microfiber towel, checking frequently for contaminants.
·Apply a solution of Z-2 + ZFX as the last coat
·Finally buff it off and wipe down with Z-6.

Notes:
1.If the paint film surface has no imperfections use a Z-2 / ZFX solution in place of Z-5
2.Smearing is caused by not allowing the Z-5/ZFX to thoroughly haze.
3.In colder weather you can wait as long a 36 hours between Z-5/ZFX application and buffing.
4.Unlike carnauba, Zaino can be applied in direct sunlight. The Z-6 dries very quickly so you need to work on very small areas. If it does dry apply a little more Z-6 and the product can be removed.

If anybody has hints, tips, or corrections to the above procedure, please post them/ send me a pm. I’m always anxious to improve my technique.

I would recommend using the ZFX with the polish and for tips, all you really need to remember is to use the thinnist coats possible as well as the best quality towels possible.
