Default A few basic NTX questions

I have been browsing this forum and cant quite find all the info I want on the new NXT stuff. I currently use zaino, but want to give NXT a try. What are the steps to this?

i.e., do I use meguiars car wash stuff (name of product?) to clean the car, and simply apply the NXT polish and remove it 30 minutes later w/o mixing? Also, is there any other NXT products like z6, etc. that ya'll use other than the car wash stuff and single bottle of wax?

I use the Mequir's Gold Class car wash. I don't know if this is a must, but I get a gallon for 10 bucks and it does a nice job. I figured staying in the same brand could not hurt and might prevent problems.

The wax is easy to use. Just smear it on in circles with the included foam applicator. Let the thing dry for half and hour and then buff off with a microfiber towel.

To put the spray wax (booster) on, you simply spray it on, then swirl, smear it on the same way you did with the liquid wax. Let this sit until dry and buff it off too.

I don't know if I am as enthusiastic about the results of this product as others. In my experience, all waxes make a car shine very well. The NXT might....might...make the car look wetter than others. I do know one thing. I will not likely use zaino again. NXT takes WAY less time to apply, and I don't get the streeking I did with Zaino. With zaino, I was told I was using too much, but when I used less, I felt like I was scrubbing a dry applicator into the paint. I did not like that. I will add that I still find using Z6 to clean up bugs and bird poo is very effective. I just hope Z6 doesn't harm the NXT coating.

I might also add that I found Zaino to be the WORST at protecting from bug stains, etches, etc. I sure hope the NXT does better.

Used Zanio's for the first time after reading a lot on how great the results are....Followed the directions to the letter and was not impressed as I thought I would be....It looked great in the sun light, but later that night when I went to a gas station, under their lights, I can see where the was was not removed, even as I looked very close while removing. I must say....applying and removing the Zaino wax requires more elbow grease than I expected. The results are no different than if I had used NXT. I talked with a fellow vette man and discussed waxes....he used NXT....and under the light...I can see a big difference in the finished. He did not use a rotor, hand applied and hand removed, tooke him all of about 1 and 1/2 hours where it took me 6 hours following the directions of Zanio...clay, wash, two coats of Z5,,,had to wait until Sunday to Apply Z2,,,,I am going to try NXT next after I complete my supplies of Zanio's.

I used NXT for the first time last week. The vette has never shined like this! Great shine and no more swirl marks! One key to a great shine is to make sure you let it dry throughly. If you don't let it dry its going to streak on you. Let it dry and it comes off with little effort and leaves a great shine.

But getting back to your basic question, here are the steps needed with NXT

1. Go out and buy it (try local Advanced Auto, Auto Zone, Wally World or Target)

2. Wash car with what ever you have on hand.

3. Apply NXT as if it were Zaino. LESS IS MORE

4. Let cure, I'd say 30 minutes to be safe

5. Use nice big 100% cotton bath towel, Zaino is right buy/use the Fieldcrest brand and don't wash in powder only liquid detergent

That's it. This is assuming tou have already prepped the surface with a good clay bar. But you'd do that with ANY wax/polish.

If you don't like the results go back to what you were using.

I just put NXT on over my existing coats of liquid glass and it went on and off very easy and so far so good.my car is silver so it is hard to tell if I have a better shine but I think it looked deeper, not worse though. tought to beat for price/ease of performance. got mine at target 14.99. not all stores seem to have it yet though.
