Need advice on now to remove wax that has stained my clear coat. Used Zanio's this past weekend and noticed my vehicle did not have the clear coat finish and could not point my finger to it until today. Washed, waxed, and applied three coats of Z5, one coat of Z6 and sprayed Z6 between every coat. I did not spray Z6 on my vehicle after claying and now...it looks as if the wax is embedded into my clear coat which is visible in the sun light. I did not sun light over the weekend, mostly cloudy, but warm, not humid and made sure I removed all the wax. Today, it is beautiful and sunny and I can see streaks of where I applied the wax. Trided to remove it, but will not come off....
Any suggestions on how to remove it now and I will apply NXT and give that a try.
I've had good luck with a pre wax cleaner, like Mother's or Meguier's. Basically rub on , wipe off. Also, Wax shop Swirl and haze remover works great if you can find it.
Thanks, after reading all the great comments on the Zanio web page...I was excited on using the product I purchased...@$90.00 or so. I am really let down and aggravated that I have to completely redo my vehicle. You would think, paying this much it would have worked better. I followed the instructions to the word and this is the results I got...... :mad :mad :mad
Zaino is removed with alcohol , prepsol, and Einszett's Acrysol easily. Also most abrasive polishes would remove it quickly, and the haze that you speak about.
Did you have the same streaking problems as well? If so, do you still have them now?
No I've never had a streaking problem with Zaino on any of my 3 C5s. I've heard that is a symptom of using too much product. It goes on VERY thin for best results. One dime sized dab should cover 2-3 sq feet. Also removing it before it is dry might cause some problems.
My problem was I didn't use the right sequence (used Z2 first) and wanted to start over to see if it made a difference if I followed procedures. (Didn't seem to make much difference but this was on Silver which doesn't show many problems to begin with...)
DX-330 ( I think Dupont or 3M makes it) clear coat safe sold only at automotive paint stores . It's a prep solvent and will remove all waxes, silicon, tar etc. Cost is about $25.'s and comes in a gal. can. Works great.

Re: Remove wax (C5corvetteman)
[Broken Record] Dawn will not remove wax. [/Broken Record]
It only removes the oils from your wax and your plastic trim. 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner will do an excellent job as it's an engineered solvent specifically designed to wax removal.
It's quick and easy. If you're experiencing cloudyness from your Zaino it's possible you put it on a bit thick. It goes on very thinly... (You should be able to get about 20 applications out of one bottle). That could be the source of the problem or not letting it cure enough.
If you can send me a pic and perhaps be able to troubleshoot it a bit more: DetailingDude@TheDetailingBible.com
