Default Ragtop help needed!!

Hello all!
I need some good advice for my vert!
I just bought a 99 vert with 19k!! Very Happy.
The gentlemen that I bought it from gave me a can of Raggtop to condition the top. Is this the best thing out there that can be used? Is there anything else I should use? What SHOULD I do I take care of the top???
Help me!!!

That's good stuff - you didn't say what color the top is. If it's black or light oak then the top is fabric. If it's white - then it's vinyl. Just make sure that the RagTopp is for the top you have - although if the previous owner gave it to you, chances are it's the right stuff.

RagTopp is sold by the Corvette Museum, and lots of guys who've used it like it.

the top is black.

Is spraying the conditioner on it enough? should it be done in the sun or not in the sun?? Are there any cleaners I should use??

Thanks people!

Get some Raggtop cleaner and clean the top before you apply the protectant. I clean mine twice a year. I clean the top when I wash the car & apply the protectant the next day. When you apply the protectant, put newspapers in all the seams between the top and the body & glass & spray away. The protectant will restore the weather repellant to the top. The water will bead on the top. When the water stops beading, it's time to reapply.

Really you should clean it first with the Raggtopp cleaner although black does not show stains like the lighter colors. Basically the the cloth should bead water when wetted if it is sealed properly to resist staining. After cleaning with the spray cleaner, let it dry, and put on the Raggtopp sealer and let that bake in the sun

I too use the raggtopp, I buy it at autogeek.net just because they give us 10% off. I have a black top and have used the Raggtopp since day one (vette is only 2 years old but just 4000 miles) and my top is flawless. I do keep it in the garage 90% of the time though. :spam
