Paint Question
Even thought this question isn't for my corvette it's a general question that I'm sure someone out there knows the answer to. I had some minor body work done to my Acura and the body shop had to paint the rear quarter panel. How long should I wait before I put a coat of wax on the newly painted area?

Base coat/clear coat is cured with a chemical catalyst, waiting extended periods of time to wax or polish was when cars where painted using single stage paints (non clear coat) and had to rely on outgassing of the solvents for it to cure fully, if the base coat did not have a catalyst added to it for it to dry then it would never dry as the base is sealed from the air by the clear coat. I would just wait about a week or two just to see if the paint is going to bubble which would be the fault of the painter and that way he can not say that you caused the bubbles from something you had done. 99% of all paint jobs are already polished with compounds and glazes before you took delivery anyway, if you want you can just add a glaze to it for now....
