Default Wax prep for NXT?

I recently bought some NXT and am planning to apply it soon. I also bought a Mothers claybar kit (claybar, showtime lube and carnauba cleaner wax). What are the recommended steps for prepping/waxing my car? I was planning on:

1. Washing car with light Dawn solution
2. Using the claybar/showtime to clay the entire car
3. Applying the NXT

Are there any other things I should be doing? Should I be using the Carnauba wax cleaner that came with the Mothers kit? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Default Re: Wax prep for NXT? (kluczenk)

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

NXT Tech Wax is a polymer that has been formulated with the ability to lightly clean the surface and eliminate fine swirls without marring. Like most synthetic waxes, Tech Wax likes to be applied to a clean surface that has been adequately prepped. Easy to use, and can be used by hand or machine (PC speed # 3-4).

The secret to the application of a polymer product is to apply it thin (super thin) fill a spray bottle and mist a foam pad then apply. First, and most importantly, thoroughly prepare your paint film surface. Wash, use detailer’s clay, polish and apply a pre-wax cleaner

The 3-step process you posted should be fine. Let us know how it works out.

~Hope this helps~
