A friend at work had his C4 (93 black on black) egged a few weeks ago. The eggs were on the finish while he away a few hours, and he cleaned the finish immediately upon his return. It now has a haze like stain on the finish where the eggs were. What can he do to restore the finish.
Sadly too, this is a fairly new finish as his car was completely repainted less than a year ago.
unfortunately egg is very damaging to paint (think battery acid) and will scar the clearcoat. (hopefully his paintjob included this level)
What type of wax or sealant was on the area ?? First remove it with an alcohol/water mix or using 3M Wax remover. Next would be to clay the area for any contamination (seen or unseen that can be easily removed) and then onto a polish as necessary. You might need something more aggressive than above (try chemical polishes first, ala Klasse AIO , P21S GEPPC, Pinnacle Paintwork Lotion) , then move on to something with light abrasives (Einszett Paint Polish, Menzerna Final Polish) and only (ONLY) if necessary move onto Mequires DACP or having the area wet sanded professionally as a final result. (this removes some of the clearcoat and thus any damage in it)
