Try a claybar and make sure to use plenty of clay lubricant.

We don't have love bugs in the northwest but I've had bird poop etch my finish. After getting the poop off, I needed to buff the spot with Scratch X, then 3M swirl mark remover, then polish. I used my random orbiter buffer. Did the bugs actually etch into the clear coat or do you still have lots of bug deposit on the car that you still need to get off?

Claying may do it since it removes almost all debris. I also use Bugs B Gone spray by SeaFoam. Spray it on a dry surface, wait a minute, and wash off with a sponge. Works fantastic on bug deposits.
