Black C6

Have a new black C6, need some advice to keep it looking like new. Have never had a black car before, but certainly do not want the streaks and swirls I see on many black cars.

After you have washed and claybarred your car and a good wax/sealant on your car, the most important factor for preventing swirls/scratches is your maintenance routine. You need a good quality soap, mitts, and towels. You also need to learn the proper washing/drying technique.

I like Meguiar's NXT wash and Zaino Z7 wash.

You need waffle weave towels for drying.

Never wash/dry in circles. Use front to back and top to bottom motions.

All I have is black vehicles, I can not do without:

1. Garage, lol
2. Zaino Z-5
3. California Car Duster
4. Cotton wash mit (no sponges or poly wash mits on black)
5. Keep a bottle of detailer spray and a cloth made for paint in the car at all times for touch ups and bird poop removal

BLW: My 2003 Coupe is my third black car in the past 12 years. I've tried many products and love the P21S line of products. I wash my C5 weekly and use Pinnacle Crystal Mist after each wash, unless I'm doing a complete polish and wax using P21S.
