Has anyone here tried the Mr Clean car wash system. Just wondering if it works as advertised at keeping away the spots?

I used it and I would say it was just an OK product. I would give it a 9 in terms of ease but a 7 in the shine factor.

Clay, wash and Meguire NXT is a 1 in terms of ease but 10 in shine. I like doing things the hard way but it pays off in the end.

I have it and it works great. The secret to the system is the ionized water that dries w/o leaving spots. If you don't like the Mr Clean soap what you can do is wash your car with your favorite soap and then instead of drying it with a towel just hose it down with the filtered water and your all set.

I recently drove my Coupe to LA, it had 1300 miles of road grime on it. CF member Bogus offered to let me use his place to clean'er up. He has a Mr Clean no-rinse thingie. He recommended the following order:

Wash with non Mr Clean soap
Rinse with Mr Clean soap and filtered water
Rinse with filtered water
Wipe down windows / glass
I was skeptical, but I believe it did about 85% of the job a good towel dry would have done. For a quick wash it worked well.

However, all those "nooks and crannies" we have come to know and love on our C5s (under the hatch, doors, mirrors, etc) still retained plenty of water, in fact when I opened the hatch to dry it out there was still some soapy water in there that streaked the hatch lid.

So, for a quick wash to get the dirt off I think it did a good job. For the regular wash cycle, I'll stick with my electric leafblower, cotton towels and microfiber.

I just use it to final rinse the car. Does a good job in reducing/almost eliminating the spots. Much easier to dry off.

I used it and didn't care for the feel of the paint after it "dried". It is great for a quick wash and dry. I'll use it on the wife's car to give me more time to do my Vette right.

My neighbor bought one and tried it. He did not like it, so he brought it over to me. I tried it and was not impressed at all with the wash job. It's main selling point is its ability to dry without spots. You can do the same thing, MUCH CHEAPER, by drying with water (take the sprayer off your hose and run water over the entire car so it "sheets" off), then just blot the rest of the way dry with a clean cotton towel. It's very easy to do, takes very little time, and is MUCH CHEAPER than buying the Mr. Clean thing.

The filtered rinse is just a trickle and takes forever to completely rinse a car. I can use a silicone blade and towel and be done just as fast.

I had one. It worked pretty well, however i noticed i was getting very small water spots on the windows of my pickup then i looked in the right light and found that i had the same spots on the paint! I would not advise using it! I never used it on my black Vette. I'm glad i didnt! I returned it to Walmart.

~One mans opinion / observations~

I tried the Mr. clean and it left a ‘film’ on both the glass and the paint surface, it would be expensive to replace the filters so it was relegated to my ‘been there, used that’ car products bin.

I’d agree with Unchained- I use a garden hose filter to take care of the calcium causing water spots and dry it with water.

~Hope this helps~

It helps, but is a pain to use imo. I've tried it on blk vette many times and leaves spots badly. Rd vette better but never sheets off all the way like they gurantee. So, I use it as recomended, but dry it after like normal which is quicker (drying) than not using Mr clean. But, the whole process seems to take longer than just washing and drying, so I may not use it much. Never have I seen it water spot free without deatail drying.

It left a film on my windows, the painted surfaces did dry clear.
