Hi all:
Finally get to clean the new toy and was wondering if anybody has had any problems using RainX on the headlight housing. Also, I've read a lot about not using anything with petroleum derivatives on the paint but, is it safe to use RainX on the glass as long as you are careful not to "over spray"?
I put rainex on my car and loved it at first....until I noticed that in the morning, the streaking / smearing / fogging was so bad I couldn't really see if I was heading into the sun and hit the windshield wipers which smeared the moisure across the windshield. This was with new rain-x wiper blades too. I admit that this would be much less of a problem if you live in a dry climate.

I like RainX for the windows, but I don't see a lot of rain or snow. What I don't like is RainX Anti-Fog for the interior. It says if a haze re-appears just wipe it off. I waswiping it off every morning for at least a week.

I've used it for a long time as well.
As for headlights ... just spray on a rag and wipe on. That way you don't have to worry about overspay or drips on the nose while you spray.
zero complaints/problems after a decade of use........
In addition to not having to use your wipers in the rain, Rain-X is great for ice removal. The ice is 200% easier to remove. Tested last week with heavy frost on the girlfriend’s car (no Rain-X) & mine with Rain-X. I’m a believer!! Only complaint about Rain-X is that I think it wears out the wiper blades quicker. Any corroboration from CR Members???
