Default Cleaning Materials

Hi:

Read quite a bit on using microfiber "rags" to dry the car but, what do you guys use to "soap (Dawn) up" the car?

TIA
RickM

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. What I meant is, what MATERIAL (sponge, rag, etc.) do you use to spread your favorite cleaning substance?

Eagle One Car Wash, for now, until I find something better.

Meguiar's Deep Crystal car wash. I use a CA water blade to get most of the rinse water off, then microfiber to finish up. If I'm feeling really **** or getting ready for a show, I'll also use my air compressor to blow water out of the nooks & crannies.

Cotton mitts work best for me.

I have a sponge that has a towel like cover on it. So it is like using a towel but has a sponge inside to hold more soap. I had used sponges for years and then used a friends wash mit and liked that. I like the sponge/towel unit a little better because it holds more water.

Use "Dawn" dish detergent specifically, and ONLY to, remove any previous car wax on the vehicle prior to claying, polishing, glazing and waxing (or Zaino).

Use a quality car wash product to clean the car after waxing...

I personally wouldn't use Dawn after reading numerous posts about how something in it(ph) breaks down the weatherstripping. I use Meguiars and a cotton mitt. Then Cotton towels to dry it.
