Default new fuel pump made a difference

I'm still making less power than when Olivier had it in his car, and I'm convinced he's right about the difference in exhaust systems. I know my car will be slower than his was with this motor(for now ) because it's heavier, but the calculators on smokemup.com show me making about 380 at the flywheel. That same calcualtor, assuming his car weighs 3300 with him in it and his 94 mph 1/8 mile time show 465.

I need a place at BMP to get the car up off the ground. I can drop the whole exhaust system with 6 bolts at the headers. The hangers will slide out. I need some kind of quick release setup.

Other than going deaf, would it hurt the car to drive it up there with open headers? It's about 90 miles. Would the heat melt anything?

Sounds like electric cut outs would be perfect for you...they are a bit pricey though...

Not compared to a new motor or tranny. I think the QTP's are nice, but yes, about $370 a pair. Plus welding. I would like to drop the exhaust one day at the track and test an open exhaust before I drop all that money on them.

Take your ramps with you you one race day. Another way is to ask one of the trailered car guys if you can pull up on his trailer ramps for 10 minutes.

Damage from open headers would depend mainly on what their aimed at. You could install some "turn downs" for extra peace of mind.

RACE ON!!!

I can drop my entire ex in 15 min. I bought some band clamps from summit for $8 ea. Then i cut the pipe about 8" from the collector and installed the clamps there. 2 bolts each side and the front is off. Then i have a very accesable bolt on each side by the muffler and the back is off. I do have a slide in hook by the trans, but just sliding the ex. back 1.5" and it's off that.

BTW, not only does it make more HP, but my dual ex. on my c-4 weighs 60 lbs too.
