Took the car out today, a beautiful sunny but chilly day and ran into a MB SL55 V8 Kompressor. Sounded wicked fast and wanted to run. I got up to around 55, he was coming fast on my left and when he reached my rear bumper, I hit it. Seemed to me that he was pulling ever so slightly but I'm sure that he was spooled up since he was coming from a distance. I'm not sure if I was in the proper gear or not. I dropped the A4 into 3rd and nailed it. Since we were not on the highway but rather an empty stretch of about 5 long blocks we couldn't get very far. We U-turned and he followed but I was not going to race on streets that were getting crowded. We did get to a light side by side, where it could have gotten ugly but I noticed and I'm sure he noticed a 5-O sitting a few cars behind. Guess we'll never know.
Not sure what mods you have, but the sl55 amg's are quick... something like 496hp from the factory..... and the mackdady sl65 has like 630 or something hp. I'd take one any day of the week, and the week after a smaller sc pulley
That's pretty quick! My Mods are in my sig. My best run was 12.2@116 at E-Town Raceway on Nitto Street tires. In the two times I've been back since that run, I haven't been able to duplicate it but that is with 2.2 and up 60' times. I've since swapped TPIS headers out in favor of Kooks with high flow cats and installed 3.90's replacing the 3.42's. I don't expect to be able to race on these street tires and am considering a set of DR's come sprin/summer time.
I saw one at the track about 2 months ago, and boy did it move. If hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would not have belived it. He left the line alittle soft and was gone at the sixty foot. He ran a 9.93 in street tires. Needless to say he was at tech right after that run and was told to leave and not come back tell he got all the right equipment to make the car legal.
his wife was in a 4door that ran mid 12's. I could build a lot of car for the price of those two cars.
