help needed...when trying to drag..
i'm new to the vette scene...running a 2000 A4...mangaflow...halltech stinger..160t...mild edit on kuhmo asx's...
got invited to go to an 1/8 mi. track on next thurs...i have never run at a track before..so please be patient...
my questions are as follows:
when lining up what settings are used to get down the track cleanly..
traction control on or off?
competitive mode?
start off in 1st, 2nd, or???
ride control on tour? sport? perfomance???
sit at idle on the line??? or???
i'm looking to see exactly what this little rocket will do...ran across an F-body today...rolling i got him...from a dead stop he got me by half a car length before we had to shut down...approx. 1/8mi.. they invited me to go to a track and watch..and/or pull a few runs...for $10.....so now im highly motivated...have never been into dragging....but really interested in trying it out..
any and all help would be appreciated...

I just started a year ago with a really slow car (was in the 15's) It is a blast!
I'll defer to the the c5 guys and more experienced racers to answer your questions as I am still learning.


Everybody does it a little different so try this.
Keep the car in drive not overdrive
Brake torque the car at the line by holding the brake rolling on the gas to bring the rpm up to about 1200 is all you can in a stock converter.
Most will turn traction control off completely but some do use competitive mode (it slowed me down so I don't)
with your suspension try touring and see how that goes.
Experiment because each driver has a different preference.
Have fun.
