Default LASIK: Hopefully better lights coming!

No flu today, like I had 2 weeks ago, so my LASIK is ON for 11:30!

Hopefully this will "clear up" my usual lousy lights..!

(hey, I have to blame them on something, right??)

SEE you all soon!!!!!

Thank you guys for the encouraging words..

One eye is not there as I would have liked.

Left eye is 20/30 & I can see!
Right eye is a very blurry 20/70, which the dr says will improve over time, but as of now, I'm not seeing clear due to the imbalance of a clear eye, and one totally blurry one..

I was told it takes time (few more days), & its only been 24 hrs...

Still kinda frustrated, very emotional expecting something and only getting 50% of what you had hoped for.

We will see if there is any improvement in the right eye after a few days. However, at this time, I sense there is a problem with the right eye.

[EDIT] It is now 2 days & NOT improving. Still totally blurry. Just like the LASIK was never performed, and I took off my glasses..

This is now beginning to feel like a bad decision was made.
The outcome was not what I had hoped for.
Damn...!

Since when is 20/30 "razor sharp"? Geez, just how blind were you?

Just kidding buddy. Chill and let your body heal, everything will turn out fine. You'll be racing in no time even if we have to tape white canes on your fenders.

PS. Ellis after surgery ---->

PSS. I am one sick puppy.

Joe:

You can get the white canes out for real..
I have problems with the one eye.
No improvement.
I am totally off balance.
This is the worst.
I am paying the price for an elective procedure that has a great deal of uncertaincy in the outcome, and it unfortunately has turned out that way for me. (I know you told me so...)

I now have to concentrate on getting my sight back in that one eye, weather its a contact lens or a glasses perscription or another surgery.

I can;t begin to tell you how frustrated, disappointed & angry I am..
Depression is near. I am beyond the point of being grouchy to everyone here at home. I cannot drive, walk, watch tv, can barely see the screen here and am typing with one eye closed...

This totally sucks.

Hey Ellis,

Just a note of encouragement here....

A girl I used to work with had it done last year & the first few days after the fact Her comments were about the same as yours... after a few days or a week later things improved quite a bit for Her & is now happy it was done. Hopefully it will work out the same for you.

Yes, it gets better.

I might have missed it.. but, what were you before surgery?

I was a minus 8 before LASIK in January.

I now can see great for about 12 feet but beyond that its blurry. (before surgery, I could not see 1 foot clearly. . so this is a HUGE improvement for me.

I told my surgeon not to cut a true minus 8.. if they took too much off the lens, then I'd be screwed.. (cant put it back on after its burned off).
This gave me the option of coming back in a few months later and having a 2nd fine tuning surgery.

SO, I currently get around nicely in my glasses and am happier than I have been since 1979 when I started wearing contacts.

Hang in there and keep up the appointments with the DR and use those eye drops!

Not to be the burden guys, but its NOT getting better..

My friend's wife who is in the field told me 90% of the sight is regained within 48 hrs.

Its NOT getting ANY better .. NO improvement to EITHER eye.

So much for the "dramatic improvement" that the Dr said I'd get over the weekend..

I'll be going to him tomorrow, but will also be getting my records & charts pre & post procedure & seeing another surgeon for a 2nd opinion later on in the week, just to cover my bases..

At this point my goal is to get some sight in the right eye, with glasses or a contact lens if that is allowed.

Next, I want to try to find out if this is strictly a physiological thing with me as to why the right eye didn't take, or was something amiss with the laser or its settings etc, since the right eye was done first.
Maybe it wasn't dialed in right or all the way, maybe it wasn't warmed up enough, etc, I don't know.....

But all I know is my sight is NOT getting better.
Its remained the same since night of the procedure.

I'm still way off balance, have a constant headache, & am typing here with one eye closed.

This totally sucks.

Ellis, that is some bad news, I hope your eyes get better soon.

I was always uncertain about this procedure, some people love it and other have issues. I guess I will continue to wear my contact lenses.
