Well, I've accomplished my goal for the year; I've gone quicker than 8.95. The question on the table is where to go from here?
I know this car has a couple more tenths in her. Both, the weather and few extra lbs. of boost, will certainly put her deeper into the 8s. I think it's a tall order and it probably won't happen with the current setup, but I'd like to click off an 8.5X at 160ish mph.
So it's either sqeezing the most out of this combo or going to different heads. Cartek tuned this car to over 1000 rwhp last year and I'm nowhere near this hp level right now. Neverlift is pretty confident this car will handle mid 8s and speeds of around 160 mph.
If I were Edgar, this would be a poll. Heads or stay with current setup?

For next season I was thinking of the LS2 block ($1K) as a lot of what I have in my forged 382 will transfer over - with the bigger piston and stroker crank you get to 402 Cubes with no boring or sleeving & I get to transfer the AFR 225s. Maybe the heads this year and the block next year? Something to think about.
You could go for the title of the first c5 NON-TUBE/Tubbed car in the 7's like Mike suggested!
It's been done on small tires with other cars. Cartek clearly has the ability to build you a psycho motor to make that power and Neverlift is behind you with the chassis! I can't imagine what it's like to run 8's let alone 7's.
You're truly nuts! You've just run 8's and you already want to go faster
This is why I love making posts like these; you get comments from both sides of the spectrum. From mild to wild
And here I was telling some guy at Atco on Wednesday that this is the finished product and I'd like to just optimize the setup
I know what Leo is eluding to and that'd be DA BOMB if I were keeping this car and modifying it further. It's along the lines of what Mike suggested but even more bad ***. It's a fair amount of money, though.
I'd love to build/run a 6 second car but it's just so damn expensive. I'd have to check my bank account after every race.

Up the boost & het back to the 1000+hp you had before & see what happens...
You could also become a pro Cougar or Silverback hunter!!! I could help w/ that!

I would continue to fine tune your current setup untill you have gone as far as you can. There is still more boost on tap so you may as well see what you can get out of it. You are not at full potential yet so "remain calm....all is well". Concentrate on the matters at hand, still 2 more pro 8 races I believe. BUT.....since you mentioned it, I think I would push the 346 for all its worth first. Then maybe a 383 stroker with All Pro's.
First off, savor the friggin' moment before I come down there and inject you with a sedative.
Here's what still needs to be done this year for you.
1)Sit back, relax, enjoy the accomplishment with a brew
2)Run the rest of the pro 8's to see if you can maintain your lead and come out on top.
3)Take a few trips to the edge and battle some 150 lb yellowfin and enjoy the big blue.(lost a 90lber at the boat monday)
4)Participate in 2 rentals in November with -1500 DA and click off an 8.49@ 160+
5)Get a job.
See, you have alot to do over the next 5 months.
I would seriously do nothing to the car until the winter when you have time to really think aboout what direction you plan on going. Congrats again my brutha!
hehehehe unless you buried a fortune offshore somewhere you will need this to go to the next racing level
Damn, I thought for sure that once I got to be the 1st Z06 in the 8s the sponsors would be lining up and I'd never have to pay another dime
Robbie, what's this "I lost a 90 lber at the boat on Monday" b.s? Why wasn't I invited? I see how that goes. What, you think I can't pay my share? Don't worry, Paulie saved a few bucks for a rainy day
