Bob, thanks for passing out the CC info.........I really wouldn't expect racers from South Florida to make the trip, but they are more than welcome As noted in the flier, the gates open at 5pm, lanes at 6pm and time shots till 8:30pm. Plenty of time to get there late, like 7:30-8:00 and get a few passes..........remember, we will be alone, for the most part.........it's like a track rental. I DO hope you and some of your racers can make the Dec. 16 open house, try out the track, and have some fun.
CONVOY!!!
I was on my way back (to Orlando)from my last appointment (in Lakeland) and thought I'd stop in to harass you guys. Dang Convoy had it all closed down.
Tim,
Sorry we missed you.............there were 4 of us, including the "Fuzzless Dice" The track was good to all..........but me,
I have a hard time hooking. I guess it's a good thing to overpower a track? NOT!!
Man, by the way you described it (1/8th mile/next to a roundy round track), I thought you were talking about a totally different track. There's one that fits that description just off I-4 called the USA International Speedway. It's just at the tip of the North side of Lakeland. Big Ol' Convoy Tonight!
Glad to hear there were some good runs. To bad you couldn't hook. Some might tell you it's time to change those "bald" tires !
YES.........That is the track! I don't know what the "Convoy" thing is. ..........and my tires are like new!!!
When i got there a couple of guys on golf carts had the entrance blocked. They said that the tracks were closed due to a convoy (lots of rigs sitting in a field there).
As far as your tires, maybe it was Fuzzy that I told that on the first (and last) time I went to Speedworld, 3 diff. people told me I needed new rear tires. They are brand new DR's. Was gonna be an inside joke thing .
Tim...you made the same mistake I did the first time I went to Lakeland...you turned at that little green sign that says USA Speedway with an arrow...that takes you to the backside of the complex...next time keep going straight, past that sign, and you will see the drag strip entrance...
Marc will make that clear when he posts directions for the Dec. 16 fiesta...
