Default Launch techniques for C4 auto's..

with lots of torque, 428 rwtq in my LT1 with 3.75 gears and 2800rpm Vigilante. I run ET streets, but track isnt all that good here and th ebest 60' timewas 1.67. Should I power brake it up , or just hit it and let it flash up?
I need 2 tenths.I normally just flash it. I want a 11.49 and I am at 11.6

Steve, I think your doing everything right by flashing the convertor but I don't think 2800 is enough stall. I went through about 4 convertor changes before I got one I liked. Your making more power than me, call PI and tell Jack you want my convertor.

I would love to try a stall like that, 4400, well maybe a little less. But I cant right now.

Steve are you spinning the tires or is that all she got? If your spinning the tires (noticably), then you need to work on traction. If it's all she's got, i would agree with Mackey. LT1s need to get the rpms up to make good power. Even Chris' (Insanity) car would only go 1.6s with a 2800 stall and his is a solid roller 396 w/410s on full slicks. We went to a 4400 stall and dropped the shorts into the 1.4s.....which was apparently over the limit for his IRS....LOL.

It will be interesting to see how mine launches with the solid rear and the 4.88 gears.

Yes, I spin. The track here in Hawaii is pretty bad. Nothing Like Englishtown, or Rockingham NC where I used to run.
I run my ET Streets at 13#'s too. I am going to see if someone can VHT my tires next time I go, which will probably be on the 19th of Nov.
