Am looking to get some feedback as to amount of people (if any) are following the fairly new "Factory-Appearing-Street-Tire" class of racing. We contracted to do one, or maybe two units (engines) for this class and it appears it's going to be a "challenge" to say the least. It'll be one of those "totally-opposite" builds as far as all the proven theories in relation to the powerplant. By this I mean extra large heads, extra large cams, wide L/S's, good old-fashioned nylon timing chains, etc. It'll be a "kill the bottom end" game. It's my understanding as of today that a few "Motion" cars are being prepped for the future for a "comeback". This may be a rumor, but time will tell. Thanks Gary in N.Y.
Are you referring to a specific class or in general the concept?
Not specific to class, just trying to get a "feel" whether this whole idea is going to "fly" or not. We seem to have a "gut-feeling" this may become VERY popular. And see whether anyone else sees this in the same light as us. Judging by the first "finished" written estimate this past week on a BB it appears this style of racing is not going to be for the "low-budget" racer at all. As a matter of fact, it may be entirely the opposite. Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

I agree, the F.A.S.T racing concept is getting more popular.I've been racing in the class for 2 years now,and we are seeing more and more cars getting built each year for this type of event.I hope the trend continues!

I agree 100% Gary. Also to the cost involved. Low budget racing is pretty much left to the Sat night brackets.
Appreciate the input guys. It looks as though a good "old-fashioned" bracket unit is going to be much less costly to build. Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

If you are simply basing your opinion on cost, then I agree,a bracket type car will be much cheaper. Is their really a heads up class thats not expensive? The thing I like most about F.A.S.T is,using and modifying the correct casting numbered parts, and making them perform as good or better than a few new "catalog"parts.Plus running on skinny bias ply tires to boot! An ET of 10.59@130mph aint too bad with "old school" parts.
