Default 6spd track launching

HOw are you guys launching the car at the track on a 6spd. I got a rodney built tranny, built rear, heavy duty output shafts, tranny girdle and spec 5 clutch. Are you guys reving to 4-5k and dumping it, or are you guys slipping the clutch any. I am goin to run CCW drags when I go again in the summer, if not them then BFG drag radials.

Some slipping of the clutch is best...a quick release.

My best 60 foot times on ET Streets (10.5 psi hot) are achieved by launching at 5500 rpm or higher depending on track prep. I delay the nitrous activation slightly and limit the percentage with an NX Controller. I don't slip the clutch at all; it's not possible to cut good lights on a pro-tree if you slip the clutch. If you want the best ETs go with ET Streets versus a drag radial. The wrinkle wall function of the ET Streets is easier on your drive train and you should be able to run 60 foot times in the low 1.5 (or better) range.

For just this situation, I asked Robz to write an article for the Corvette Challenge on launching his Z.

You can be the first read it

I hear that, but he made no mention of cuting good lights. He was looking for good launches...
