Generally, whatever you tow is covered by your car insurance company (you have to provide an insurance policy # when you register it). But it certainly won't hurt to call and make sure 100%.

I think it will cover liability but not theft. I have a separate policy for the trailer. I even have one for the golf carts. Liability, fire, theft and collision.

You may be right; theft is probably not covered by your car policy but it may be covered by your home owner's policy. I have an umbrella policy that covers just about everything. Again, check with the insurance company. I'm not an insurance agent but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night
