Default What Breaks Next???

Last summer i installed a 496,roll cage loops transbreak etc... Has anyone found the limit on the d44 in an 81? First time out went like this. Im running a msd timming computer so it sounds kinda crazy the learning curve.
First pass couldnt see real well so short shifted bad not sure on the rpm went 11.71@122.
second pass got the shift right went 11.41@ 125 still slow off the line checked the timing at 3500 was only 26 degrees so i added 12 degrees and ramped some back out between 4500 7000 rpm.
It now went deep in the tens 10.35@132.
Forth pass dissater hit with a 50 of nos trying to kill some more 60 foot time. Im not sure what broke first if it was the ujoint or the trans yoke but both were trashed. Has anyone ran with the 2.87 gears still installed and what was the 60 when the gears give up? The stock driveshaft issue is solved with 1350's and chromoly tube. My goal is to go low 9's with the irs rear on drag radials. The motor is built for a 500+ shot of the gas so it can push the gears. Any info is welcome thanks.
