Paul Page had been the 'voice-of-the-Indy 500' for many years, and has done IRL/Champ-Car racing on ABC for many seasons:
I believe the curent deal is that when Page has a previous IRL/open-wheel commitment this season, Reid will take his place alongside "22-time National Event Winner" Mike Dunn.....

Seems that ABC has lost most of motorsports edge.....so maybe we're seeing politics/new producers/'senority' effects --- either at ESPN or parent ABC. Hope they stop the shuffling - but it isn't something "new" at ESPN....and I doubt we'll ever get the REAL reason(s). Reid seems to appreciate the zaniness that can happen at the track, as well as the dedication & guts that come with drags.....hope he stays, & ABC stops messing with it.
