I ordered a new trans today from ROSSLER . It is coming with his new trans brake. He says he has applied for a patent & he has about 50 already out. Carl Rossler is a great guy known for high HP reliability. According to him the Turbo guys love it.
Face we are talking about the 4l60E my friend. Our transmission. I had a long conversation with Carl about that transbrake and what it takes to put it in.
Trans rebuild and and deeper oil pan and we are set to go.
Could be in my next rebuild

This is something I've always wanted. My only concern is, the rear end. Next time I break one I'm taking a welder to it and making a spool. Then I'll be all set.
Honestly unless you are also going to run a delay box I don't see the advantage of using one, maybe I am missing something. Now on a dedicated track car it would be great with a delay box and a 2 step. But at most tracks where I go you would have to run in the electronics classes.
It will be interesting to see how well it does or does not work. I'm curious because about a year ago I was in a post on ls1tech in the auto trans section. The post was called "Yank wants to know." It covered lots of subjects but in one post I asked about a trans brake in the 4L60. FLP responded and another trans vendor did as well but I can't remember who the second vendor was. Anyway they both told me that they did not think the strength of the 4L60 case was up to the task. We shall see.
I have not spoken to any one who has one so looking forward to hearing msb thought's
My old 4L60 goes to Carl this Fri. I expect at least a couple of weeks turn around. Also waiting on Riechard to get 10 RIB drive pulleys for ECS,also soon I hope. Probably be a month for #'s. on 427 with (hope) 17-19 lbs. so we will see how it works. Getting something together always seems to take longer than I thought.

I don't bracket race so the delay box doesn't apply to me but I agree that would be handy. Actually I drive my car quite a bit on the st. I don't like a real loose converter. With st. tires it would be useless but it will help with slicks.
I live in far n.e. Texas. I quit racing about 5 yr's ago. Raced TOP SPORTSMAN '82VETTE. 14/71 blown/540 methanol. Since then just built & collected 60's Chev. SS cars. I'm getting the race bug again. Talked to Hawley's today about getting my licence back.Their school is in Fla. I think ,be a nice winter trip. I'm 57,semi-retired.
Should be interesting.............Mine may come back from Carl with a TB.......I get a 1.49 foot brake on OEM suspension now.....a TB should help me find the nexty week link

Take that to the bank... a transbrake WILL find the weak links in your drivetrain.
About Rossler's new 4L60E brake... looks like the perfect street application. Full automatic shifting (a first for a brake equipped auto trans), plus the launch of a stickshift (why brakes were invented in the first place).

I Hope the "perfect street " app. works out. I have owned or now own other stuff with4,5 & 6 speed boxes. I love to drive them but they are a pain in traffic. On top of that I nearly always use an alum. flywheel so I don't hit the tires so hard. The light flywheel just makes a real cammed up nasty motor harder to drive. This "brake on the st." deal is kind of an experiment.
