As soon as I can get the photos off my other computer I'll send you some. In the mean time if Jim 'tpi 421' see's this maybe he can send you his conversion pics & mine .
HERE is a whole album from awhile back of a 9" inch, 4 link rear installed in a C4. He started off with a bare housing. Definitely looks like a big project.
I am thinking of putting a solid axle in my C4 and need some pics. Thanks
Here is what I did. Its a Torque Arm settup.
I run a 28" ET Street, and reused the stock rear rotors and calipers.
Also installed a 4L80e at the same time (took out a ZF)

I knew you would show up. Will the 4-link setup work without cutting my storage boxes on the C3? Can I mount the links to the t/a mounting area?

Part of the reason I went the torque arm route was exactly this. The back half of the car was going to have to be removed to properly mount the links, and cross member from each frame rail.
The torque arm is similar to that of a camero settup. I put Hime Joints on all the ends and centered. I haven not made any adjustments except stiffing the passenger rear QA1. This got the front end to lift evenly.
I think either settup is going to provide the stregth and traction capability your looking for. The Torque Arm is by far less work-but not as common.
I hope to put my car in the high 8's soon, which will be a testimony of the rear settup on a 28" ET Street.
