Why does coverage of the NHRA always take a back seat to everything else? Drag Racing was supposed to come on at 7:00, but nooo! Golf is on instead! Am I the only one that gets upset about this? James

Not like they missed it by 15-30 min either. comes on an hour and 1/2 later. Did they have any intention of putting it on at 7:00? I assume ESPN would know about how long it takes to play a round of golf

What most-people don't understand is that golf is a big-enough sport that ESPN pays golf to televise their events:
Glendora has-to payESPN to show their drag-racing programming.
I can only-imagine what the fan-boys at the Oakley-mater are saying.....
The golf tournament was on ABC till 6 PM...it was running long so they switched it to ESPN...then at 7 PM it still wasn't finished so they switched it over to the Duece....goes to show you where that channel sits on the totem pole...fwiw, golf ran extremely long since 90 players made the cut when normaly 60-70 do....
Sadly, Glen is correct...viewership dropped when golf ended and the NHRA came on....drag racing will always be the red headed step child given their low ratings...
Last week it was rained out... but that doesn't excuse Compton and Co. from properly marketing their product (getting better, but still need improvement!).
