Newbe Question
I have a 2006 A6 and the only mod I just made was headers. I want to see how I do in the quarter, but have never tried it before. Here is my question. With the new headers, and turning traction control off, I can easily spin tires and burn rubber. I just put the trans in competition mode and floor it. However, if I go to the track and do the same, as I have read many people advise, would I not lose time with the wheels just spinning? Would I do better to leave traction control on and get a quicker hook up? Sorry for the the dumb questions.

Provided you are going to stay with your street tires you do not want to floor it. Traction control will also cause you to lose time. You will need to find a launch technique where you roll into the throttle quickly without spinning. It will not be easy.
If you can get your hands on some drag radials then you can floor it and see what you can get.
