Maple Grove has always been the BEST dragstrip on the east coast! I am glad to see that they are staying the course.
Maple Grove is an excellent venue. It is full of hard core racers. I urge more fellow CC'ers to go there some weekend. The bracket racing is very competative and you can race in several different classes. On any given weekend you will see car ranging from 18 seconds to 4 seconds. It gets crowded, but it's worth it

While having dinner at the Division One Awards Banquet one January, I over-heard a MGR official, chuckling about the meager payouts given to winner of the Divisional categories, such-as TAD, TA/FC, and Comp, sating: "..... our WEEKLY BRACKET RACERS win more at our Awards Banquet than these guys do, chasing points across the country!!!!!"
The now-extinct Bracket Racing USA Magazine picked what they considered the best-run drag-strip, and hardest-track to win at each year it was in-print:
Maple Grove won several years in a row, eventually saying "if you can win at Maple Grove, you can win anywhere!!!!!"
I only live 3 miles from Maple Grove the place gets full of race cars on a Sat. & Sun. for their Sunoco ET Series races. Only problem is if ya want to go just watch it's $20 bucks no wonder no one is in the stands spectating If they charged $5 bucks it would be full of spectators and they would make it up on the food. Or like Beaver Springs $25 bucks a carload. Neat place though Maple Grove I went there when they only had one set of bleachers on the spectator side and pit side with a cinderblock timing tower with a sign that read Maple Grove DRAG-O-WAY Pipe
